My practice is rooted in my
understanding that true health and healing requires a holistic approach, attending
to body, mind, spirit, and emotions together. Optimal health lies in the
balance of all four elements. This balance is not static, and it requires
constant micro-adjustments throughout life to create harmony and wellness. I believe that we all have incredibly
well-tuned innate healing mechanisms. I see myself as an educator and a
facilitator, someone who helps the whole person use his or her natural ability
to find whole health.
I have been in practice
for over 20 years. I am a Certified Holistic Health Care Practitioner (HHP)
through the Association of Natural Health, a licensed Massage Therapist, and a Certified Computerized Electro-Dermal Stress
Analysis (CEDSA) Technician.
I graduated from The Scherer Institute
of Natural Healing (now called Santa Fe School of Massage). I am a student of the Hakomi method of
body-centered psychotherapy, which helps me fully
integrate the body/mind connection into all aspects of my work and life, and supports
me in staying open to and welcoming all parts of who we are and all parts of
our healing process.
My study and practice of Sheng Zhen Qigong, the Qigong of unconditional love, has taught me that healing begins in the heart. This form of Qigong, a moving meditation, opens the heart and calms the mind creating optimal energy flow in the body. Restoring the flow of Qi creates balance and health where physical, mental, emotional, and environmental stressors have blocked the harmonious flow of Qi.
